General Tsos Chicken
Restaurant
Chef Wang has earned a passionate following in Tucson over the years, widely regarded as the city's most authentic Chinese restaurant. Located on E Grant Rd, the restaurant has become a culinary landmark for diners seeking genuine Sichuan and Cantonese flavors, including many who grew up eating Chinese food in Hong Kong and mainland China.
The sauerkraut fish (pickled cabbage fish stew) is the signature — a bold, tender dish built on a tangy, aromatic broth that defines Sichuan-style cooking at its best. The beef chow fun is a wok-fired classic executed with skill, and crab rangoons offer a crowd-pleasing starter. Shrimp fried rice and stir-fried eggplant round out the menu, which also includes a selection of black sesame buns and other house-made items.
Portions are generous and best shared. Takeout is popular, though the experience is elevated by dining in. Closed Monday evenings; opens at noon on Mondays.
